THE GAME CHANGERS
ORIGINAL 20 AND NOW DOWN TO 8
The family episode has never been a favorite of mine. I like seeing the players having time to spend with their loved ones, but I always feel so sorry for those who lose the opportunity of spending time with a family member because they lost the ‘Family Challenge’.
In the ‘Family Challenge’ the teams were broken up into three teams of three and each team was tied together. They had to jump off a platform into the water and swim to the beach where they had to dig a hole under a log, which would be big enough to crawl under. Next they had to untangle keys from a rope and figure out the right key to unlock a box of sand bags. Then one member of each team threw the bags at a pile of blocks set up on a table and the first one to knock all the blocks completely off the table would win the ‘Family Challenge’ for their team. Culpepper, Aubry and Andrea won and were able to select two people from the losing teams to share in the family reunion and they chose Sarah and Cirie.
DODGED A BULLET
Before the Immunity Challenge Andrea’s alliance decided to vote out Culpepper at the next Tribal Council to break up the Culpepper/Sierra alliance, but like always, things never seem to go as planned on Survivor.
At the Immunity Challenge each player had to hold up a ball with poles by inserting them into holes on each side of the ball, all while balancing themselves on a small 3″ platform. The challenge wasn’t long, as some were out after 30 seconds. In the end Culpepper won the Immunity Idol and Andrea’s alliance then decided to target Sierra.
Sierra had told Sarah about her Legacy Advantage and how it could be transferred, if she was voted out, so Sierra foolishly promised it to Sarah! I guess it was her only hope in staying in the game, although I am sure Sierra will be kicking herself once she finds out Sarah threw her under the bus. Sarah is playing a good game and made another great move by schmoozing up to Sierra to get the Advantage.
For awhile it seemed like there might be another shift in power. Michaela was very upset she couldn’t spend time with her mother and after speaking to Tai, it looked like they would flip and Andrea’s head might be on the chopping block, but when Michaela told Sarah about the plan and during the discussion at Tribal, Michaela and Tai’s plan started to unravel and they wisely decided to stay with their alliance and vote out Sierra.
Good bye Sierra, you tried, but the odds were against you.
Sorry guys for losing one of your eye candies!
Condolences go out to Snakbit. He has now been officially eliminated from the pool. Move over Bubbie and make room for him on the couch!
Next week it looks like Michaela is going to cause problems, but when doesn’t she? 😆 Can’t wait to see what happens.
Looking forward to hearing your comments. Have a great week!

Thanks Aggie. I was so afraid I would miss something because I had two TV goings, one to watch Survivor and the other, game 7 Pittsburgh vs Washington.

I thought it was cool at least Sierra gave the advantage to Sarah, so good luck to her, I hope she can make that work well.
I would have rather see Andrea go, But Sierra was Ok, It was a good show, good for Brad for getting Immunity he got it when he needed it, It does seem like his days are numbered though but you never know with this game.
I enjoyed the show as usual it was fun, Now I have to watch Fargo

I was surprised she still gave it to Sarah after she was voted out. Brad, Troyzan and Tai all were very loyal to her and I think it would have been interesting to see her give it to one of them. Oh well, I like Sarah and I think she has the best chance to win! I agree, Brad’s days are numbered, but I also believe Andrea’s days are numbered too. Not sure what is going on, but the previews hinted Cirie might flip next week. It should be an interesting episode.

Great write up as usual Betty Blogger. 😎 It was a fairly tame one tonight. And I know this is a GAME but I really thot Sarah would be more loyal to Sierra. It really botherd me how she just automatically threw her UTB. Why would it be a bad thing to have one really good friend/ally who would have your back to the end instead of jumping around always changing sides and lying? I know that’s how it’s done but it would drive me stark raving mad not knowing who to trust!! Couldn’t take the stress and paranoia!!😫
I couldn’t believe that Sierra still willed her the advantage!! Seriously?? She should have given it to one of the guys at that point
Nice to see the families but damn if I don’t tear up every time!! Lol. Mike always looks over to see if the waterworks have started yet and then proceeds to make fun of me. 😜
I think if Brad doesn’t win immunity next week he may be reuniting with Sierra sooner than later.

Thanks Star. I felt the same way too about Sarah. I thought she would be loyal to Sierra, but she isn’t letting her emotions get in the way of her game play. She was out for that ‘Legacy Advantage’ and nothing was going to stand in her way. I know how you feel about Sarah’s disloyalty, but remember no one else in the game knows she back-stabbed Sierra and I think everyone will continue trusting her. Sarah made an excellent move, whether we like it or not.
I loved seeing Brad with his wife. He is playing a much better game this time around, but I agree, his days are numbered.

Betty I know it was a good move for Sarah. You can’t always be who you really are out there. Im not upset at her. It just surprised me. And actually I like her so I’d rather see her go farther than some of the others.
betty said:
I understand and didn’t think you were really upset with Sarah, but it did sting a bit to see her turn on Sierra, as maybe I am the only one here who liked Sierra. I agree, it was a good move on Sarah’s part. Have a great day!

I didn’t dislike Sierra. I was kind of hoping she and Sarah would bond after that and work together. She needed to get away from those guys. But again. Everyone else wanted her gone so Sarah was smart not to. Like they say you’re not there to make friends!!🤗
I’m cleaning out my closet. Ugh. Hadn’t changed the boots out for sandals yet. Now I’m throwing out old ones and decided I have about 5 other projects in there. I picked today because they said it would be cold and rainy. Didnt happen. But I needed to get it started at least. Guess I should have done this last week when it was cold. The lack of storage in here makes me crazy and makes it impossible to keep things organized. So time for a few trips to thrift stores to off load a bunch of stuff!! Then when I get all this fine it will be time to go get flowers!! Oy! It never ends. lol

Betty, excellent recap. Very detailed, and I appreciate that, as I missed a lot of Survivor last night. I missed all of the family challenge, what was played, who won and who picked whom. By reading your recap, I almost feel like I was there watching it with you.
I was glad to see Sierra go, and now hopefully Culpepper will be joining her next week. Anyway, not much more for me to comment about, since I missed so much.
Thanks again, Betty.

Thanks Frannie. I always liked Sierra, but she came into the game with a big target on her back, so her elimination last night really didn’t surprise me. I don’t know what to make of next week’s previews, but it looks like Michaela turns into a bully monster and Cirie might jump ship. It is hard to say for sure, because we all know the previews can be deceiving.
franniep2 said:
Wow, thanks for the update on the next weeks previews. I guess I missed that too.

I love to watch the previews, but they don’t always tell you what is really going on. They can be so misleading. It would be interesting to see Cirie flip, but I am not going to hold my breath. Can’t wait to see Michaela sound off to Culpepper, as by the looks of things, he was really pissed off!!

Thanks, Betty, nice choice of photos, it’s fun to see the original group again.
I enjoyed seeing Cirie’s son and Sarah’s husband or boyfriend. The reunion show is not my favorite, as I don’t get all the overwrought emotion, they’ve only been there for a month, and they are all weeping basketcases. But I think Sierra may have summed it up when she said this was the only moment she did not have to be on edge about the game. And, I understand they are all hungry, tired and paranoid, but it’s such an emotionally manipulating ploy on the producers part for an episode. My favorite reunion show… Jonny Fairplay.
Sierra will be disappointed when she finds out Sarah voted her. Kind of cold to say you will vote someone off so you can get their advantage, but Sarah is doing what she can to further herself in the game. She is so honest, I’m sure she will tell Sierra that she voted her off. Still rooting for Sarah.
That was pretty funny when Michaela’s Mom told her to settle down, and she did. She looks like a cool mom and I’m sure she has her hands full with M. I am constantly impressed with how smart Michaela is. I think she will do well in life. I’d love to see here win, especially since she is my gal in the pool.
Brad impressed, as I thought the taller people would fall first. He dug deep when he needed it, and he did. I was never a big Monica fan, but it was fun to see her, and she again showed why she did well in the game when she was advising Brad, it was all business to her.

Thanks Ted. I feel the exact same way about the reunion show, but was so afraid to say anything for fear of offending someone. I know the players are all tired, hungry and rundown both physically and emotionally, but it always bothers me how emotional they all become. You would think they hadn’t see their family member in years, when it had only been 30 days. I guess you have to be there to fully understand. I agree with you about the best family reunion with Jonny Fairplay, that episode was classic!
Sarah disappointed me a wee bit, but she is playing the best game by far. She is a no nonsense player and will admit to everything she does, which I believe will give her a lot of jury votes.
Michaela’s mom gave me a chuckle last night too, when she told her daughter to settle down. I can’t wait to see what Michaela threatens Brad with next week! He sure looked ticked off in the previews.

I was never a big fan of the loved ones show either.
It’s ok… I don’t hate it. But I don’t look forward to it… I’d rather see more scheming and stuff like that.
It must be the conditions and constant pressure of the game that gets them
30 days is nothing really.
I could go 30 days easily without talking to another person at all….. if work and everyone would leave me the fuck alone that is. 😆
I also don’t get them always going bonkers over some of the food rewards.
I know they are hungry and all…. but if I played Survivor and they brought out cookies, cake, and donuts…. I’d rather go eat leaves.
But the BBQ or burger ones….. oh I’d be all over that!
betty said:
I think if you were really hungry, you wouldn’t care what was offered, but I agree, 30 days is nothing!

Ok. My lack of Survivor knowledge is showing here but who is Johnna FairPlay??? Sounds like a porn some. Lol
Michaela surprises me too. Probably because she only seems to talk when she’s angry, you don’t get a sense who she is. But she used some vocabulary last night that actually made me do a double take. Do you remember her background? I don’t know if she’s in school or working. But when she actually calms down, she sounds very intelligent !!

Jonny Dalton, AKA as Jonny Fairplay, is probably the worst of the worst when it comes down to playing Survivor. When it came time for the ‘family reunion’ on his season, his best friend, Dan, was substituted for a family member. Jonny took the opportunity of telling all the players that his friend just informed him his grandmother died, which was a lie, as his friend never said anything like this. Jonny just made up the lie to get sympathy, so people would not vote him out. It was all the talk that season at just how low Jonny would go to win, because his grandmother was alive and well!! Can you imagine being his grandmother and hearing this?
I think Michaela is in sales, which is hard to believe, as she seems so angry all the time. Sorry, but I can’t remember what she sells.

Interesting. Thanks for the explanation. But I remember fineine in BB doing that too. Saying his wife had cancer. I can see his face but can’t think of his name. Those ppl will do anything to win!!!SMH

Great write up of course Betty (we expect nothing less now…. it’s your fault for spoiling us) 😆
I can live without the eye candy Sierra. I really don’t find her that attractive. IDK what it is… just something about her.
She was the ONE person of 20 I didn’t remember when the season started….. but then after watching her a few time I did remember her.
Would have been good to see a shake up in the power group… but I guess Sierra going isn’t a big loss IMO.
I wonder if they will still target Brad next week? It seems the big point was to break up Brad & Sierra… and that is done now. They might still target him…. but it seems pretty much everyone else left has more control than he does at this point.

Thanks so much for the nice compliment JT. When a playoff game is played on a Wednesday, I have a hard time because I have two TVs going and I hate watching hockey with no sound for I am always turning the sound back on when I see a skirmish or fight.
I was hoping to see another shift in power last night, only to make things more interesting, but I agree, Sierra leaving wasn’t much of a big deal to me either, even though I liked her. I can’t wait to see Michaela sound off to Culpepper next week. According to the preview she seemed to really get under his skin. Not sure what Cirie will do, it seems she might jump ship next week, but we all know how deceiving the previews can be. I am looking forward to next week’s episode. Have a great day JT!

Excellent rendering of the show Betty!! You do good work for us!! I like the reunion show and I have a different prospective than some of you. I don’t think their emotion is because they’ve only been apart a short while. I feel it has more to do with seeing someone who always has your back and someone you love. In this game, you can’t be sure of anything so to get that comfort from a loved one is a huge deal. That’s how I see it.
I wasn’t sorry to see Sierra go and I’m still rooting for Sarah. I think Sierra will see her betrayal as a good game move. She may be disappointed at first but she knows better than to tell anyone about an advantage. We’ll find out soon enough. Like JT, I didn’t remember Sierra at first either. It was a good game move by Sarah. Besides, you shouldn’t have a “person” who is too close to you because then you become couple and then a target just like Sierra and Brad are a target. Troyzan is playing it really well too but if he wants to win, he’ll have to make some of his own moves. Cirie is a smart cookie and has maneuvered, convinced or manipulated quite well. I don’t think she could win but crazier things have happened. Loved seeing her with her son.
It appeared to me that Brad’s wife wasn’t all that emotional to see him. In fact, she seemed quite stoic to me. It appears she’s the strength in the family. He gives a good show of it but nope, she’s the strength. I could care less about Tai, he’s too duplicitous to me and can’t be trusted. It depends on how the wind blows for him. I like Michaela but she’s very volatile and explosive. She can’t seem to control that emotion. After seeing her mom, who loves her very much, my guess is Michaela didn’t have the emotional assistance she needed growing up. Being in sales would be good therapy for her. 😀 Not sure how Aubry will play going forward but I wouldn’t count her out even though I don’t think she could win.
Loved the videos Betty and the pictures. There were even a couple Pickleball videos. That must have been picked up from Gary watching them, right?? Have a great Friday everyone!!
betty said:
Thanks Trudy. I understand your reasoning concerning the Reunion Show and I agree. It must be very emotional to feel all alone, without any support from a family member or friend and I would probably act the same way. I would miss Ken terribly, but it would probably take seeing Maggie for me to breakdown and cry because she wouldn’t understand why I was gone. 😆 I also agree about Troyzan and Sarah, they are definitely playing the best game. Who couldn’t like Cirie? She seems to have a warm heart and although she isn’t very good at challenges, she puts all her energy into them. Aubry is only taking up space to me. I see no change in her game play from her previous season. If she wants to win, she will have to step up to the plate. Andrea and Brad won the reunion challenge hands down, without much help from her. She was fortunate to be teamed up with them. Hope you have a great day!!
Does Gary watch the Pickleball videos for pointers?
